Fremantle Dockers to rest Manjimup’s Dana East for rescheduled AFLW clash with Western Bulldogs

After a rollercoaster start to Dana East’s life in purple, the Fremantle Dockers elected to rest the Manjimup product for their clash with the Western Bulldogs. East played another important hand in her side’s victory over Collingwood, but was one of four players to be rested by the Dockers on Tuesday. With no guarantee when they will return home from Melbourne, Fremantle remain unbeaten through four games, including three straight in Victoria. And the win over Collingwood was the strong indication yet that East’s side will be genuine premiership contenders. The Manjimup product had another six disposals and five tackles in the 5.8 (38) to 1.1 (7) win at Victoria Park. The Dockers are one of only two unbeaten sides remaining, with Adelaide also yet to drop points. And the two sides are on a collision course, with their rescheduled round one clash set to be played in the one of the final rounds of the season. The 19-year-old East is averaging nine disposals a game this season, with her best game coming in the round two victory over Greater Western Sydney, in which she also kicked her maiden goal at the level. The Dockers are due to face North Melbourne in Hobart on Sunday, but scheduling changes have hit the league hard in recent weeks.
