A fundraiser concert at The Cidery managed to raise more than $2800 for the Blackwood Horse and Pony Club on Saturday night. People from the Blackwood region descended on The Cidery in Bridgetown on Saturday to listen to the music of local musician Tracey Barnett and help raise funds for the pony club. Barnett played throughout the evening as patrons enjoyed food and drinks by Cidery staff, a silent auction with items donated by local businesses — including horse-related equipment, a photography session for a pet and horse-riding lessons — and raffle with two prize baskets of goodies up for grabs. Local businesses that donated items included LOFT Bridgetown Handmade Boutique, The Cidery and Blackwood Valley Brewing Company, Kader Boot Co., Prestbury Park Saddlery, Richfeeds and Rural Supplies, Three Red Ponies Pet Photography Studio. The Horse and Pony Club managed to raise $2824.30 on the night, which will go to upgrading and maintaining the club.
