Manjimup block party to celebrate Brockman Street revamp
As work on Brockman Street nears completion, the community is invited to celebrate the progress.
The Brockman Block Party will coincide with the Family Festive Fun Night on Friday.
Work still to be completed includes installation of the third roof, sealing of a new carpark, timed parking, and lighting, CCTV and additional Wi-Fi installation from January 6.
Manjimup shire president Paul Omodei said as with most big and unique projects, there had been some unanticipated delays.
“This is after all, as far as we are aware, the first time such a project has been undertaken in Australia so it has been new ground,” he said.
Cr Omodei said Friday’s Block Party was a celebration of community and an opportunity for people to come together to share food and conversation before the festive season and the Manjimup Cherry Harmony Festival.
“Aside from bringing people into the CBD, it is a way to highlight how the new covered precinct could be used in the future,” he said.
