Manjimup chips in for airport fund

Tari JeffersManjimup-Bridgetown Times

Manjimup Shire Council has voted to put $10,000 over the next five financial years towards the City of Busselton’s Airport Marketing Fund.

The council will provide $2000 per year from its annual marketing budget.

In addition to asking other local governments in the South West, the City of Busselton is committing $3.5 million to attract and retain an airline carrier that provides international and interstate flights.

It is believed dedicated flights into the South West would help boost tourism throughout the region.
