The community will come together in mutual Christmas spirit on Sunday for the annual Christmas in the Park event.

A joint project involving Manjimup churches, the free event will include the Lions train, Devonshire tea, a climbing wall, a merry-go-round, face-painting, a bouncy castle and pony rides.

There will be a sausage sizzle from 6.30pm, followed by the Carols by Candlelight at 7.30pm.

The event’s four coordinators are Lisa Henderson, Sue McCredden, Faye Bird and Nancy Giblett.

“There’s a lot of people who come together to make this happen,” Ms Bird said.

“About five years ago there was a need for an event like this in the community.

“Christmas in the Park and Carols by Candlelight brings the community together and gives Christmas spirit, to both children and adults alike.”

Carols by Candlelight will include live entertainment by various artists from the region.

“This is a gift to the community from the combined churches of Manjimup,” Ms Bird said.

The event will be held at the Manjimup Timber and Heritage Park, visit the event’s Facebook page for more information.
