A Manjimup man was fined $2050 after pleading guilty to failing to comply with a requirement made by a police officer. Julian David Morgan faced the Manjimup Magistrates Courthouse on Thursday, pleading guilty to one charge of failing to comply with a requirement made by a police officer. The court heard at 5:10pm on May 27, Mr Morgan was driving a Ford Ranger down Giblett Street when he was pulled over by police and conveyed to the Manjimup Police Station, where he was asked to supply samples through a breath test. The court was also told he had failed three times to supply sufficient sample and was charged with failing to comply. Although Magistrate Michelle Harries informed Mr Morgan he could plead not guilty if he had a defence for not complying, such as due to a medical condition, Mr Morgan was adamant on pleading guilty to the charge, saying he did not want to go to trial. Along with the $2050 fine, the magistrate disqualified Morgan for months, which is the minimum sentence for the offence.
