Manjimup Rovers prepare to play Australind in last game of South West Soccer Association season
The Manjimup Rovers men and women will play their last game of the South West Soccer Association 2022 season against Australind on Sunday.
Both sides have struggled to field a full team at times throughout the year and faced substantial travel distances but never gave in.
Manjimup are fifth on the SWSA Div 1 Men ladder after a purple patch of matches throughout the middle of the season.
The Rovers were last on the ladder and winless after their first six games of the year before turning things around and winning six of their next seven matches.
Manjimup skyrocketed to fifth on the ladder, just one win behind the second-placed Harvey Hawks, before recording two losses and a draw to fall further behind.
The Rovers play wooden spooners Australind on Sunday in their last match of the year and are expected to finish the season in fifth.
In the SWSA Ladies Reserves, Manjimup are second last on the ladder with just one win and a draw for the year.
The Rovers face the fourth-placed Australind, who they drew 2-2 with in round 2, on Sunday in their last game of the year.
Manjimup’s only win of the year came in round 1 when they beat Collie Power 3-0 on the road.
The Rovers are seventh on the ladder and lead the bottom-placed Busselton City by just one point.
