The Year 6s at Walpole Primary School have been flexing their creative muscles to beautify a toilet block at the school.

With help from the Manjimup Shire Council and Nannup-based artist Lewis Horne the Year 6s have created a series of mosaics to be placed on the exterior walls of a toilet block.

Year 6 student Jack Hunter suggested the idea to the council when the student council visited them earlier this year.

“Nannup artist Lewis Horne has been working with the students to complete the project,” principal Chris Cook said.

“Hopefully the mosaics will be mounted by the end of the year so the Year 6s can see them up.”

Students have been busy with swimming lessons this week and the mosaics had to be completed before the end of the school year.
