The Nationals Hockey Club had a great day at the office after winning their preliminary finals in both the A and B grade as the Warren Women’s Hockey Association season closes in on the grand final. In the A grade showdown between the Nationals and the Cougars, the former came away the victor after a 3-1 win on Saturday. The goal scorers on the day were Nadia Stoiche, who grabbed two, and Natasha Omodei who sealed the deal for the Nationals, while Lisa Walker scored for the Cougars. The players of the match for the Nationals were Melinda Booth and Omodei, while Hayley Ryan was best on ground for the Cougars. In the B grade between the Nationals and the Violet Femmes, Nationals emerged as winners 2-1. Nationals goal scorers were Rebecca Drake and Lauren Edwards, while Cassidy Waters found the net for the Violet Femmes. Best on ground for both clubs included Sarah Jakobson for Violet Femmes and Sydney Gibellini and Amanda Roberts for the Nationals. After these two victories the grand final is an identical line up between Mixjuz and the Nationals for both the A and B grade titles. Both finals will be on Saturday.
