The Imperials will want to forget all about round 15 of the 2021 Lower South West Football League season after a goalless 105-point loss to Boyup Brook. Wearing their NAIDOC jumpers, the Imperials, who were without one of their leaders, Tyler Ipsen, took to their home ground in tough conditions and appeared to bring the fight to the Roos early on. A tight match from the first centre bounce saw both teams struggling to move the ball cleanly across the ground. However, after starting the opening minutes on the bench the Roos subbed on star midfielder Mckenzi Nix, whose impact was felt straight away. Nix immediately helped his side start to win contests, eventually hit the scoreboard and lock the ball in their forward half. Kicking just one behind in the first quarter, the Imperials continued to fight in the second but ultimately got no reward for their effort, while the Roos rolled their lead out to 43 points. Unfortunately for the home side, things were not much better in the second half as Boyup Brook showed why they are one of the top teams in the competition this year. The Imperials did manage another two behinds in the third term, but the Roos replied with another three majors of their own. The final quarter was again all Boyup Brook as the visitors booted six more goals and six behinds while the Imperials stayed completely scoreless. As the siren sounded, the final score read 15.18 (108) to 0.3 (3). The Imperials will face the Hawks at Deanmill on Saturday for the Todd Cooper Cup, while the Roos are set for another thrilling clash against the Tigers in Boyup Brook.
