Western Beef is partnering with WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and Soil Wise — a project funded by the National Landcare Program Smart Farms Small Grants — to bring Pasturama to Manjimup.

The inaugural pasture day will be on all day on Friday, March 24 all around Manjimup, starting at 8am with an opportunity to network at breakfast and finishing at 6pm, with a happy hour at 4.30pm.

The event will consist of presentations, hands-on demonstrations including showing participants the role of top-soil on pasture productivity by checking soil pits in nearby paddocks, and trade displays with pasture seed suppliers, fertiliser companies, farm machinery suppliers, carbon farming companies and farm equipment suppliers.

Presentations on the day include discussions from WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s Paul Sandford, University of Western Australia’s Peter Hutton and Alan Peggs on research in southern WA, a presentation by UWA’s Zoey Durmic on virtual fencing, a presentation on pasture demonstrations in southern WA from Stirling to Coast and Lower South West Growers Group and a presentation on trouble shooting pasture production by Angelo Loi from DPIRD.
