Perth International Burlesque Festival to bring a night of performance entertainment to Manjimup in September

Manjimup will be big and loud when some of the best international burlesque performers come to town for the Perth International Burlesque Festival. For the first time, the annual festival will be coming to cabaret club Gatsbys Skyline in Manjimup on September 23 as a part of one of three Regional Roadshows, with the other locations being the Town Hall in Albany, on September 2, and Queen’s Park Theatre in Geraldton on September 29. Festival director Jessica Gough said this year’s performance marked the first time the festival would be visiting Manjimup and Albany as a part of their roadshow. “It was hard, logistically to expand over the COVID years, but it’s definitely exciting to expand to the regions for the tenth anniversary shows,” she said. “We’ve got a few headliners and feature performers who will be in the regional shows.” Gough will be hosting the Manjimup show as her burlesque persona, The Sugar Duchess, and says she’s excited with the variety of diverse performers who will be performing in the festival. “It’s going to be really amazing this year and we’re so happy that entertainers and international performers will be able to come to WA. “We’ve got about 150 performers who will be in six performances and there is just a wonderful contingency of performers.” Mx Burlesque Perth 2022 Lolly Moon, cabaret singer Misty Falls, acrobat Johnny Wild, and burlesque performer Wild Kat are some of the names announced for Manjimup’s Regional Roadshow. Ms Gough encourages those attending the shows to dress-up to match the occasion and interested attendees can buy tickets to the Manjimup show through Humantix.
