Pilot bus service gets funding

Karen HuntManjimup-Bridgetown Times

A $10,000 grant from the Department of Local Government and Communities will allow a pilot shuttle bus service to run in Bridgetown-Greenbushes this summer.

The project recognises that for anyone without a car, there is limited public transport within the shire via the daily TransWA and South West Coach Lines services.

It would use the shire’s community bus to assess the viability of a regular public transport link between small townships from Greenbushes to Yornup.

The project follows an application for Lotterywest funding to replace Rosie, and the pilot would start after news of that application, which is expected by September.
