Playing in the sand is just grand

Pemberton Playgroup has installed a new sandpit and two new shade sails for its outdoor play area. The group got funding from the Manjimup Shire Council’s community grants program for the shade sails, supplied and installed by Southwest Canvas. The sandpit frame was donated by Farmlink and sand by Doyles Truck Hire. Playgroup president Chelsea Della Gola said making the new play area happen was a group effort. “Through the hard work of our playgroup members we were successful in receiving a shire community grant, which allowed us to install some much-needed shade for our children to safely play outside in the sun,” she said. “The installation of our new sand pit was made possible thanks to the generosity of two local businesses for their kind donation of materials and of course to our husbands for their time in putting the sandpit together. Seeing the enjoyment on the children’s faces is wonderful and we are so lucky to now have these great facilities at our parent-run playgroup in Pemberton.”
