Racing has returned with crowds flooding in to the Tyrepower Manjimup Speedway for the Make Smoking History Street Stock Stampede and a number of other events on Saturday evening. Fans were happy to be back track-side as they were treated to performances from street stocks, formula 500s, wingless sprints, production sedans and junior sedans. Although there were plenty of winners on the night, the biggest story was David Fall winning the 20-lap main event, just his third feature race win in the past five years. Fall, Shane Whild, and Jack Favero led the pack early in the race before Fall gained a lead and didn’t look back. Favero was able to best Shane Whild in the final stages of the race to take second place, with Jason Whild getting up over Damien Amato and Brendan Fagan in a close fight for fourth. State champion Steven Ellement had a strong night out once again in the formula 500s, winning round five of the Stainless Fastener Supplies West Coast Series. Rhys Cumming went back-to-back wins in the junior formula 500s. Blake Iwanow also celebrated a feature win for the wingless sprints for the second time this season in the second night of the Keens Driver Training Southern Slam. Vince Lindsay was the winner of the junior sedan feature after just getting ahead of Mikayla Hinsey and Fletcher Milentis. Ryan Yates was victorious in the production sedans as he defeated Shaun Brewer and Prue Plowright in the A Main. Rhys Cumming was successful in the junior formula 500s.
