Ramp up skate skills
Girls of all ages are being encouraged to get along to the Manjin Rec Plaza on Saturday for the first Mother-Daughter skateboarding workshop.
Organised by Manjimup Shire Council, the event encourages girls to bring along their mothers, aunts, grandmothers or any woman who plays a significant role in their life to learn new skills and have fun together.
The event will be held from 10am to 2pm and will include beginner’s tips on skateboarding.
In a safe and supervised environment, the workshop will begin on the grass to learn riding and pushing stances before it will progress to the skatepark to learn basic moves and entry level tricks.
The workshop will be run by Ness Moore.
All the equipment is provided, including skateboards, helmets and pads, in addition to a lunch, all for only $5.
