The Nannup Flower and Garden Festival had a record crowd for the Saturday festivities of the four-day event.

Festival coordinator Sue Skey estimated more than 6000 people attended the festival on Saturday.

“The Thursday and Friday of the event is also getting more popular,” she said.

Special guests at the festival included Costa Georgiadis, Sabrina Hahn, Guy Jeffreys, Josh Whiteland and Deryn Thorpe.

Mrs Skey said the event benefited from the “beautiful” weather, and she had received positive feedback from special guests, stallholders and festival-goers alike.

“The special guests were in awe of our gardens and the tulips around town,” she said.

“Costa was a hit with the kids and was also amazed at the diversity of our gardens.”

Other highlights from the event included the question and answer session at the end of the day, the demonstrations and the Community Marquee.

Mrs Skey said anecdotal comments from several business owners found businesses did “very well” during the event.

The festival committee will have a debrief soon and work on next year’s event will begin in October.
