Round 1 of the South West Championship Motocross at Cosy Creek Motocross Track over the weekend

The Manjimup Motorcycle Club hosted Manjimup’s round for the South West Championship Motocross last Sunday at the Cosy Creek Motocross Track, with many racers coming from all over to burn rubber and leave their competition in the dust in 12 different race classes. In the 50cc Auto for riders between seven and nine years, Nate Forwood took the win, while Chase Wilsin and Darcy Weterings placed second and third. In 65cc for racers 7 to 10 years old, Ryder O’Grady was the winner with Nate Forwood and Marcus Street coming closely in second and third. In the 10- to 12-year-old category, Evan Foley won and Noah Thomas and Charlie Butler also took the podium in second and third place. Ollie Birkett took the win for the 85cc/150cc in the 9- to 12-year-old category, with Jayce Stocker taking second and Charlie Butler third. Deegan Fort won the 12-to-under-16 year category, with Mason Brown and Jacob Thompson following in second and third place. 2022 Australian Junior Motocross runner-up Patrick Butler took the win for both the 100cc/125cc 13- to 16-year-old categories and the 128-150cc/200cc-250cc 13- to 16-year-old categories, beating Nate Graham and Chantz Napier in the former, and Devin Buckley and Kaidan Freight in the latter. In the Clubman categories, Joel Petley beat Cody Richardson and Jeremy Pitter to win the Lites category. Jason Lamb nabbed the Open category win, with Jake Witehira and Cameron Vanstan coming in behind. In the Vets race category, Luke Few took the win, while Ashley Rogers was the runner-up and Oliver Smith trailed behind to claim third place. In the MX categories, Michael Kennedy was the MX2 champion, David Birch was swift enough to nab the title of MX1 champion, and Lauren Cook was named MXW winner.
