Students from Pemberton District High School and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School came together to entertain and feed Pemberton’s senior citizens on Friday.

Held at the Pemberton Sports Club, the students served lunch and performed a musical piece, while students from St Joseph’s in Years 4-6 performed two song and dance routines.

St Joseph’s principal Brett Wilkie said his students looked forward to the event every year.

“This event in particular with the senior citizens, because a lot of them are known to the children and relatives of the children,” he said.

“They just enjoy having the opportunity to put a smile on the faces of some of our senior citizens.

“It’s a great chance for the two schools in town to work together to put on an event like this.”

Pemberton District High School interim principal Sarah Perrett said the senior citizens lunch was an example of how students could give back to the community.
