Shire bid to create sporting chance for project funding

Bridgetown community and sporting groups will receive a helping hand in learning how best to secure project funding through a new Shire initiative. The Bridgetown-Greenbushes Shire will spend $10,000 to trial a new service which will give groups a resource to help guide them in developing a project proposal and identifying funding sources. However, the service, which will be run through the Bridgetown Family and Community Centre, will not include directly writing grant applications because the council hopes the service can give groups the ability to manage applications themselves. This comes after the Shire’s 2020 Community Scorecard results showed the community believed accessing funding for local projects would be one of the biggest challenges over the next 10 years.
