Southern Forests Campdraft brings draws more than 170 participating for a weekend of competition

The Warren Equestrian Centre hosted the 7th Annual Southern Forest Campdraft over the weekend, with more than 170 competitors in the campdraft and open categories.

Friday started with Barn Hill Station Stay Novice Campdraft, with many great runs from the competitors, with Frank Angel riding Chilli taking the win, and the Top Cut Out run off winner being Darci Nancarrow on El Zara Chisholm.

Saturday kicked off with the Nutrien Ag Solutions Manjimup Open Campdraft, with fierce competition and neck-to-neck runs, which had rider Bonnie Reimers and her horse Deadwood Duchess ruled as the winner, and Brandon Holland riding Rosebrook Kinetic being the winner of Top Cut Out.

The Saturday program continued with the Sam Caporn Junior Draft won by Mitch Holland on Rosebrook Kinetic. Top Cut Out went to Dustin Dellagostino on Indys Oak, followed by the Beasley River Contracting Juvenile Draft, which Annabelle Towne on Roy Catolena won, with Top Cut Out being won by Georgia Holland on Rosebrook Kinetic.

The final event on Saturday was the Elders Manjimup Open Horse event, which was fiercely participated by the competitors interested, with Donald Percy being named the winner of the shootout riding Collins Linzara, with an incredible score of 92 and also nabbing the Top Cut Out.

Sunday closed the campdraft weekend with the Independent Rural Agents Maiden Campdraft, won by Douglas Brown, who rode DC Twister Cat, while Top Cut Out was given to Brett Lacey on Coolie. Dusty Dellagostino on Indys Oak was named the winner of the Sam Caporn Junior, with Tristan Scott was named Top Cut Out, riding Brenapark Quality.

The final Junior event to close out the Southern Forest Campdraft was the Beasley River Juvenile Draft, which was won by Emily Towne on Gold N Gun, while Top Cut Out was given to Annabelle Towne on Townes Serene.

Cattle used to chase during the campdraft weekend came from Bannister Downs in Northcliffe, The Markotis Family in Manjimup, Lake Janis Farm in Pemberton, Kanangra Grazing and Bogoias Farms, both in Manjimup.
