Speed zone warning at schools go back
The 2018 school year started today and police are urging people to slow down in school zones.
From 7.30am to 9am and then 2.30pm to 4pm on Monday to Friday, the speed limit drops to 40kmh in school zones.
Manjimup police Sen. Const. Brendan Kelly said today was a timely reminder to slow down in school zones.
“Police will be out and about to make sure people are adhering to the road rules,” he said.
“Children lack the road sense adults take for granted.
“It’s incumbent on road users to be aware of the area around them.”
Both road users and students were also urged to beware of distractions, such as mobile phones.
