Students’ cheeseball gets a calendar spot
Two Manjimup Senior High School students have been selected from among more than 1000 students to have their recipe featured in a calendar.
Of the 20 Year 10 students that took part in the Great Ocean Road — Careers Made Here — Cheese Your Own Creation program, Phoebe Kordic and Abbey Hall had their cheeseball recipe chosen to be used in the Great Ocean Road’s 2021 calendar.
The cheeseball was developed to be the central component of a cheese board.
“We are very grateful for the opportunity to participate in a national competition in our cooking class at school,” Phoebe said.
“It has been a very enjoyable but different type of project to be involved with.
We had to use our creative skills in developing the recipe and then we had to style the dish for the photo shoot.”
Phoebe and Abbey also thanked teacher Lynette Chapman for finding the competition and then challenging then to think up new ideas.
Their win also netted $250 for Manjimup Senior High School.
