Manjimup’s Jennie Franceschi was named the 2017 Telstra Australian Corporate and Private Award winner at the National Telstra Business women’s awards in Melbourne last night.

Mrs Franceschi, managing director at Fresh Produce Alliance, was recognised for her innovative work in the agricultural sector.

Last month she was named the Western Australian Telstra Business Women of the Year.

Telstra Business Women’s Awards ambassador and group executive media Joe Pollard, praised Mrs Franceschi for her “outstanding achievements in a very challenging business”.

“Mrs Franceschi is a pioneer of the avocado industry in Western Australia,” Ms Pollard said.

“Not only is she a visionary, but she is also strongly driven by her integrity.

“With a strong understanding of the generational challenges of farming in Australia, Jennie’s goal is to turn agricultural wastage into growth.”

Mrs Franceschi has been in the avocado industry since working on her family’s commercial orchard in 1974.

Fresh Produce Alliance, launched in 2016, is a processing facility that champions a sustainable agriculture ecosystem.
