Dedication to the team and a love of helping customers has earned a Manjimup Reject Shop staff member a national award.

Katala Holling, 19, was earlier this month named as one of four people across the country to win Reject Shop’s Got Talent divisional customer service award 2017-18.

Miss Holling was one of the original employees who helped open the store when it launched in October, 2014.

“I was young and needed a job at the time,” she said.

Miss Holling said she liked helping people in her job.

“It’s always wonderful when customers feel grateful,” she said.

“I was pretty surprised for the nomination, I was shocked but happy, it’s also great to give the store some promotion at a national level.”

With an aim to move her way up to a management position, Miss Holling has organised to take part in a training course later this year to prepare her for the position.

“This is not something I was planning when I applied for the job in 2014, I thought it’d be a short-time job,” she said.
