The Manjimup-Bridgetown Times team will be working with the community this weekend to raise money for Telethon.

As part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Telethon, which is being held on October 21-22, the newspaper will be holding a car wash and sausage sizzle this Saturday to raise money for children living with life-threatening diseases.

In addition to raising money for medical advances in treating children’s diseases, Telethon also provides equipment, resources and critical services across the State.

In an effort to do its part for Telethon, the Times is asking people to bring their cars to Manjimup BP on Saturday from 8am for a wash and buy a sausage sizzle while they wait.

“Telethon is an incredibly worthwhile cause we are privileged to have been involved with for many years,” Manjimup-Bridgetown Times branch manager Petula Holland said.

“Thank you to Woolworths for the donations towards the sausage sizzle, to the Manjimup BP and Manjimup Monograms for the use of their space and to Easy AZ Car Cleaning for the professional cleaning tools on loan to us.”

The sausage sizzle will be held in Manjimup Monograms’ driveway from 8am, with sausages $2.50 or $3 with a drink.

Sedans will be $10 and four-wheel-drives will be $15 for a wash.

The Manjimup-Bridgetown Times will also be offering the newspaper and a coffee for $3 in the office until Friday.
