Tessa rides for a cause
Eight-year-old Tessa Bendotti-Van Der Spil from Pemberton aims to ride 100km during October to raise money for children’s cancer, as part of the Great Cycle Challenge Australia.
This is the second year Tessa has participated, riding 31km last year for a total of $1137.
Her goal this year is to raise $1000 and she has raised $51.75 already towards her fundraising goal.
Tessa is the youngest participant in the ride this year, a title she held last year as well.
Tessa said she was a little bit nervous about the ride, but she had been practising and could ride 4.5km comfortably.
“I care about other children that have cancer,” she said.
“I watched this thing on Netflix called Alexa and Katie, and I feel bad for Alexa because she had cancer.”
Her 100km will be completed in small amounts at various locations, including Big Brook Dam.
