Boyup Brook claimed a 29-run win at home over Northcliffe at the weekend. The home team won the toss and chose to bat first. Scoring was shared by a handful of batters with Scott Tweedie (23), Tim Mead (28), Tristan Mead (21) and David Johnston (42) all chipping in. When Boyup Brook looked to have got some momentum, the likes of Jason Treasure (3-28), Phil Thomas (3-40) and Dan Bayman (2-31) were able to clean up the tail and keep the home side to a total of 173 from 40 overs. Northcliffe opener Wayne Smeathers got things going for his team with 41, but opening partner Phil Thomas was removed for a duck by Jacob Maw. There was not much else for the visitors to smile about with quite a few batters unable to really find their rhythm. Asa Lamb was able to steady the ship coming in at six and scored 45 runs but a 3-22 haul for Maw and some solid bowling from Declan Holland (2-27) and Todd Carroll (2-28) saw Northcliffe unable to chase down the target, finishing their innings at 8-144. This weekend Boyup Brook play Pemberton in Pemberton while Northcliffe host Forestry.
