Tracy Barnett to perform at the Cidery next month for fundraiser

Bridgetown singer-songwriter Tracey Barnett will be performing at the Cidery, in their biggest event to date, to help raise funds for the Blackwood Horse and Pony Club. The Cidery in Bridgetown will be hosting Barnett on June 24 for a one-night-only concert, with a raffle and silent auction during the night, with all proceeds going towards upgrading equipment at the not-for-profit sporting community Blackwood Horse and Pony Club. Tracey said the evening would include new works as well as her previously released songs, having hinted at recording new music as well. “I’ll be mixing some of my previously released songs and I’ll be sharing a new one that’s related to horseriding, post-recovery from a horse fall,” she said. “I’ll be keeping it very much community-minded and resonating with the cause, while being authentic to my brand.” She said the choice for raising funds for the Blackwood Horse and Pony Club came from her experiences throughout her life with the club, having been a member since the age of six, and the sense of community she got from them as well. “I guess I am biased as I am a member of the club, but I grew up and got so much out of the club being a Bridgetown-born-and-raised girl.” “Much of my horsemanship knowledge, riding skills and friendships were gained from attending Pony Club and I cherish the memories.” Ms Barnett said her personal experiences also drove her motivation to advocate for causes including the Pony Club, which she encouraged supporting. “If I resonate with something that strongly and I therefore am compassionate for those going through a similar journey, it makes it easier for me to connect and there’s not many causes I’m not passionate about,” she said. “If there are any equestrian enthusiasts that want to join a friendly community, then joining up with the Blackwood Horse and Pony Club would be a great way to support them as well.”
