Awesome, pleasant and relieving is how Donnybrook daredevil Josh Sheehan has described his feelings after his latest stunt.

On February 13 Sheehan rode 30m across a lake on his motocross bike at Belmont Park Racecourse.

After hitting almost 100kmh and racing across the water with nothing to brace his fall, Sheehan said he had fun doing the gravity-defying stunt.

“If you do not have enough speed it really just wants to suck you into the water,” he said.

“Thankfully, with different gearing and a nice, long run in I was able to build enough speed.

“It actually feels quite pleasant when you are just cruising on top of the water.

“You have to keep everything tight and going straight, but it is a nice, relaxing moment as you are skimming on top of the water.”

Sheehan, 31, said he tried something similar to the run for the first time just a few weeks ago.

“The only practising I did was at a friend’s dam and it was a struggle with the run up,” he said.

Sheehan said he believed next time he tried such a stunt he could go bigger and better.

“It was a nice relief.

“Almost straight away I though ‘damn, I could have gone much further’,” he said.

The stunt was part of the promotion for the world-renowned Nitro Circus’ tour of Australia – the Next Level Tour – which will come to Bunbury in April.
