WBCA: Forestry takes the win at home ground against Boyup Brook

Forestry defeated Boyup Brook by four wickets in their Warren Blackwood Cricket Association clash at Collier Street on Saturday. Boyup Brook won the toss and elected to bat, with Jacob Maw (17) and Braydon Ridley (39) swinging big for the team and giving them a quick start. The run rate did eventually slow down, although Leigh Clark (4) and Tristan Mead (30) were able to keep Boyup Brook’s score moving ahead. Players were caught out one-by-one with little to no runs added to the score, until Declan Holland (19) was able to keep the pace going. It was over for Boyup Brook after 33 overs, when Owen Lee Steere (13) was caught by Forestry’s Kayne Aitken, leaving Forestry to chase Boyup Brook’s 137 runs. Forestry openers Daniel Ward (14) and Kallan Fall (36) started off strong for the team, but it was clear Forestry had their work cut out for them if they were to win. Kayne Aitken (55) was able to narrow down the gap between Forestry and Boyup Brook along with the work of his teammates Duncan Wells (2), Braden Gibellini (16) and Corey Gibellini (4). However, it was all over when Connor Ipsen (1) and Reece Edwards (5) were able to score six runs in order to chase down the target with four wickets in hand.
