The Manjimup Country Club will host a wedding dress fashion parade at the weekend, to raise money for the club.

The parade will feature wedding dresses from the 1930s through to more modern styles and will be held on June 15 from 6.30pm.

Event organiser Caterina Bending said about 40 people from Manjimup and Pemberton had offered their dresses for the event.

“We will have 40 wedding dresses alongside bridesmaid’s dresses, mother-of-the-bride outfits and more in the parade,” she said.

“We are hoping to raise enough funds for some new tiles in the bar area and possibly new carpet.”

She said the event was also about encouraging people to visit the country club to see what the venue had to offer.

“There will be a few little surprises throughout the night which we will keep under wraps for now,” Ms Bending said.

“I would like to extend a huge thank you to all the businesses in town we approached, they have all donated to the event which was great to see.”

Another of the organisers Kerry DeCampo said organising the parade had been a lot of hard work, but it had also been rewarding.
