2022 Manjimup Cherry Harmony Festival attracts more than 7000 people to town

More than 7000 people made their way to the Manjimup CBD for the highly anticipated 21st anniversary of the Manjimup Cherry Harmony Festival at the weekend. The popular South West event included all of the traditional favourites, including the grand parade, live music, circus and theatre acts, log chopping and cooking demonstrations as well as 124 stalls, displays, competitions and endless family activities. As an added bonus, the event also saw a collaboration between the MCHF and the Manjimup Chamber of Commerce that introduced a late-night trading event on Friday that was well-attended by families. Festival coordinator Pam Bodsworth said the festival — which had something for everyone — was absolutely brilliant and made for a really good day. “It was a really good day,” she said. “I felt a good vibe across the event.” Ms Bodsworth said it was rewarding to see the number of people coming into town to attend the festival and enjoy it. “There was a lot of good feedback from people coming on buses from Perth saying they’d been before, they would come again and well done.” Ms Bodsworth said the parade was the highlight of the event while the mild weather allowed for an even more successful event. “The weather was nice to us so that was good because we still had people in the streets at 4pm in the afternoon,” she said. Ms Bodsworth said it is important to thank the entire committee and everyone involved in the festival because it would cease to exist without them, including the Shire of Manjimup and CEO Andrew Campbell. “I thank the very hard-working committee,” she said. “Everyone involved in the festival needs to be commended because without everyone doing what they do a festival like that does not happen.” Ms Bodsworth said plans were already under way for the 22nd anniversary in 2023.
