Tigers Football Club have been named 2023 colts premiers and back-to-back champions after defeating Bridgetown Football Club in the Lower South West Football League colts grand final on Saturday. Tigers secured the win on the back of an incredibly impressive season, remaining undefeated for the entirety of 2023. On neutral territory at Boyup Brook Oval, Tigers unleashed themselves against the Bulldogs, setting what ended up being an unmatchable pace early on in the game. The Bulldogs did not make it easy for Tigers to start, keeping the margin low in the first half considering Tigers dominance. The score was 5.3 (33) to 3.0 (18) to Tigers at the end of the second quarter. Tigers began to increase their lead in the third quarter but it was during the fourth quarter — when they scored seven of their 16 goals — that it became clear the game would not go in Bridgetown’s favour. The final score was 16.9 (105) to 7.3 (45). Standout performances were had by Tigers’ Charlton Goerling, Jordan Pinelli, Joshua Seroka and Conor Cole. However, it was their teammate Jed Edwards who awarded with the Mensland Manjimup medal for grand final best and fairest after an impressive display of football talent. Bridgetown’s Lynus Butler, Jacob Duncan, Levi Nichols, Sam Doherty and Aspen Hodge were also acknowledged for their football skills on the day.
