Two women charged by Donnybrook police after allegedly stealing from elderly man who stopped to help with car

Two women have been charged by Donnybrook police after it was alleged they stole from a man who stopped to help them with a broken down car in Argyle. WA Police said on October 14, a man in his 80s was driving along the South Western Highway when he stopped to assist two women in a broken-down vehicle. Police alleged one of the women stole the victim’s bankcard from his vehicle while the man was looking under the bonnet of the broken down car. Allegedly, the stolen card was used to make several purchases before the victim was able to cancel it. Police have charged a 54-year-old woman from Bunbury and a 62-year-old woman from Donnybrook with several counts of gaining benefit by fraud. The women are set to appear before the Bunbury Magistrates court on January 23.
