WBCA: Bridgetown solidify position on ladder with 66-run win over Forestry

Bridgetown have solidified their position on the Warren Blackwood Cricket Association table with a 66-run over Forestry on Collier Street Sporting Complex’s hard wicket. The winners batted first but did not make the start they would have liked, finding themselves at 4-65 after top-scorer Thomas Clynch (37 from 64 balls) was out in the 19th over. An even spread of contributors managed to get them up to a competitive score of 8-184 from their 45 overs, with captain Matt Tassos (31 from 48 balls), Mitchell Clothier (31 from 30 balls), Will Bradley (28 from 41 balls) and Simon Duncan (23 not out from 38 balls) all chipping in. Kayne Aitken made an aggressive start to the chase for Forestry but wickets tumbled around him and his dismissal for 59 from 39 balls left them at 6-93. Bridgetown cleaned up the tail to end Forestry’s innings at 118 in the 25th over, with Bradley (3-28 from 8 overs) and Clothier (2-21 from 7 overs) backing up their good batting work with the ball.
