The Dribblers defeated Billy Goats by a single point in a nailbiting match at the Manjimup Indoor Sports Pavilion on Wednesday night. With Billy Goats coming off a loss against the Raiders and Dribblers coming back from a bye, Dribblers had the fast start thanks to back-to-back goals by Jason Buckley. Strong efforts from Billy Goats’ Tyler Barnsby and Rastus Heridgan helped narrow the margin. The score was tied 6-6 after a three-pointer by Billy Goats’ Jordan Pinelli and the teams could not be separated as they went into the half-time break locked at 10-10. In the second half, a three-pointer by Rastus Herdigan helped the Billy Goats establish a lead, with Dribblers’ Noel Mondejar managing to whittle down the lead by scoring two points during his free throws, before teammate Mark Dronow helped bring the lead back to the Dribblers with a two-pointer. A three-pointer by teammate Adam Buckley helped extend their lead which they held before a two-pointer by Rastus Herdigan again tied the score 27-27. However, in the last minutes of the game, a two-pointer by Dribblers’ Peter Deguit helped secure their win, with Billy Goats’ Tyler Barnsby managing to score a point during a free throw to narrow the Dribblers’ win to a single point, 29-28. Although both teams did not place high enough on the ladder to make A-grade for the remainder of the season, the Dribblers’ win meant they start the second half on the top of the men’s B-grade competition ladder, while Billy Goats sit fifth. In the other men’s matches, the Raiders toppled the Warriors 65-29, Purple Cobras and Hawkers drew 42-42, Barracudas beat Giants 73-27, Wolfpack beat Yabbies 41-26 and Hawks A beat Redbacks 54-25.
