The Pink Ladies had an impressive 40-point win against the Sapphires on Wednesday night, continuing their unstoppable winning streak in the Manjimup Amateur Basketball Competition. The two teams met at the Manjimup Recreation Centre for the second time this season, having gone head-to-head in round one, with the Pink Ladies taking out the win during their first match-up. Throughout the match, the teams played well, albeit with several missed opportunities at goal, and made sure to keep each other on their toes with fast-paced action and aggressive attempts at keeping the lead. Although the Sapphires tried their best to prevent another loss, the Pink Ladies were too much for them and went on to win 69-29. In the men’s senior matches, Wolfpack beat Redbacks 39-28, Barracudas beat Purple Cobras 57-44, Yabbies and Billy Goats tied 30-30, Raiders beat Giants 48-40, Tropics defeated Warriors 33-18 and Hawkers defeated Dribblers 45-42. In the women’s A-grade senior matches, Slam Drunks toppled Aces 40-8 and Sharks beat Panthers 27-24. In the women’s B-grade senior matches, Aus Stars defeated Bush Chooks 40-32, Magpies Orange beat Asterix 30-9 and Saints beat Senators 26-23.
