The Wolfpack won their fourth match in a row when they took down the Dribblers on Wednesday night, letting it be known they were a force not to be messed with. The Wolfpack came in dominant and strong, having already won three of their four matches prior, while the Dribblers were hoping to make up for their disappointing losses in the two previous matches, having won their first two of the season. Both teams were able to put a strong offensive front and an even stronger defence strategy, switching possession constantly and averting attempts at goal throughout the match. After a game of tumbles, run-ins and tumultuous attempts at keeping possession, the Wolfpack were able to edge out the Dribblers to win another game 37-28. Wolfpack’s Jamie Smedhurst (14) led the match scoring, while teammate Aaron Pedlar scored 12 and Dribblers’ Pierre Michel sank 13 points. In the senior men’s matches, Barracudas beat Warriors 82-23, Hawkers defeated the Giants 46-33, Purple Cobras toppled Billy Goats 56-39 and Hawks A accounted for the Yabbies 36-26. In the women’s A-grade senior matches, Comets beat Panthers 33-16, Sharks defeated Slam Drunks 28-27 and Sapphires outdid the Aces 31-16. In the women’s B-grade senior matches, Saints beat Magpies Blue 30-21, Senators defeated Magpies Orange 27-20 and Aus Stars edged Astrix 25-22.
