Imperials take down Bridgetown by 32 points for second win on trot

The Manjimup Imperials had their second consecutive win when they defeated visiting Bridgetown by 32 points on Saturday afternoon. The two teams faced off at Imperials’ home ground, Manjimup Recreation Ground. In the second quarter, Bridgetown gained some momentum, making up for their shortcomings in the first quarter, and scored five goals. However, Imperials kept their momentum going by kicking three more majors, going into the main break with an 11-point lead, with a half-time score of 7.8 (50) to Bridgetown’s 6.3 (39). Determined to keep their lead, Imperials bulldozed Bridgetown in the third quarter, scoring five goals. They made sure Bridgetown lacked opportunities for goals, with Bridgetown scoring two behinds in the quarter. However, the tables turned in the final quarter, with Imperials limited to just eight behinds as Bridgetown, landing three majors, attempted to mount a comeback. Imperials’ Kaleb Michalak was the leading goal kicker of the match, scoring five, while Bridgetown captain Brett Wilson scored three goals.
