The Imperials were able to make up for last week’s narrow loss by smashing the Southerners at Manjimup Recreational Ground on Saturday with an impressive 54-point margin. Within the first quarter the Imperials had swept past the Southerners, securing a 37-point lead by the end of the quarter, leading with 6.3 (39) to just 0.2 (2). While the Southerners were able to score a goal during the second term, it was not enough to stop the Imperials who smashed through to a 7.5 (47) to 1.2 (8) lead by the end of the first half. The second half had the Imperials continue their lead, with the margin only getting wider, while Southerners tried to keep up with several goals, including four in the last quarter to put them hot on the heels of the Imperials. However, it wasn’t enough to stop the Imperials, who won by 54 points, with a score of 14.12 (96) to 6.6 (42). Tyler Ipsen managed to kick an impressive five goals for the Imperials, with other top goalkickers including Scott Gizzarelli, Bailey Scott, Lachlan Smith and Corey Johnson. Ben Cabassi, Campbell Daubney, Jack Hick, Cooper Omodei, Jay Ridley and Casey Vandersluys were all the top goalkickers for the Southerners, with each scoring a goal. Riley Brown, Zachary Hall, Jaxon Pitts, Tyler Ipsen, Reid Chatley and Scott Gizzarelli were all named the best players of the match for the Imperials. Seaton Thompson, Cooper Omodei, Jay Ridley, Mathew Fox, Campbell Daubney and Ben Cabassi were named the best for the Southerners.
