More artists have been announced for the 31st edition of Bridgetown’s beloved Blues Festival

Bridgetown’s beloved blues festival is making its 2023 return for a weekend of artists, music and entertainment in November, with more artists having been announced to hit the stage. The 31st Blues at Bridgetown will be bringing a weekend’s worth of amazing music from November 10 to November 12. The festival has announced its second round of artists, who will be making their appearances at the festival, including Brisbane surf-folk singer-songwriter Jack Botts, returning artist Kim Churchill, Central Coast trio Little Quirks, Fremantle singer-songwriter and producer Boox Kid, and soul singer Jesse Redwing. Currently touring Europe and the US, Jack Botts is a Brisbane-based singer-songwriter, known for his surf-folk sound, having performed in bars, venues and festivals, and busked on the streets around the Australian coast. Mr Botts is becoming one of Australia’s fastest-rising songwriters under the radar thanks to his super chill guitar riffs, great melodies and honey-smooth vocals, which guests will enjoy as he brings a coastal sound to the festival. Kim Churchill makes a return to the festival, having noted his “love affair” with South West music festivals last year, and will bring his signature folk-rock sound for fans and blues enthusiasts to enjoy. He has previously performed at festivals including Glastonbury, Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Montreal Jazz, Telluride Blues, and has supported with Milky Chance, Billy Bragg, Michael Franti and Nahko & Medicine For The People. Known for his dynamic stage presence, he unites lyrical artistry with his fierce vocals, while using his guitar to create landscapes that animate his lyrics. Central Coast sisters Abbey and Mia Toole and their cousin Jaymi will bring their folk-pop sound, catchy melodies and pounding rhythms to the Blues at Bridgetown festival when they play as their trio band Little Quirks, promising to provide an explosive and powerful live show for everyone to enjoy. Jesse Redwing will be bring a down-to-earth set with a contemporary interpretation on the soulful sounds of blues legends when he takes the stage in November. Redwing has toured Europe and the US with the Jesse Redwing Band and supported such acts as Cedric Burnside, Jon Cleary, Cold Chisel, The Teskey Brothers and Ana Popovic. Fremantle singer-songwriter and producer Boox Kid is a Noongar man delivering unique electro-pop, while being a cross-genre performer, starring as Wardong in WA Opera’s Koolbardi Wer Wardong, written by Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse and sung entirely in Noongar language. Having opened for George Ezra and The Hoodoo Gurus, and with sets at Perth Bluesfest, Dark Sky Festival and the WA Day Festival, 2023 continues to be a big year for Boox Kid with his first-ever Blues at Bridgetown appearance. Other artists announced to be attending the weekend festival include Sunday Lemonade, Dave Mann Collective, Wil Thomas, The Nomadics, David Hyams, Chicago Blues Review, Memphis Funk & Groove, Lachy John & The Red Bellies and Mary, Daun & Esther. They will join with the previously announced C.W. Stoneking, Bondi Cigars, Sweet Talk, Roshani, Grant Haua & The Soul Decree, Minnie Marks, Zydecats, Kangaroos With Machine Guns, Tracey Barnett, Smokestack Rhino, Rose Parker Band, The Human Highway, Tommy Bosson & The Score, Tanya Ransom, Howling Onshore, Two Dollar Dog and Whiskey Nips.
