SWSA: Blackwood United women’s team has triumphant win over Bunbury United

The Blackwood United women’s team had a triumphant victory in their second match of the season, winning 6-3 against home team Bunbury United on Sunday. The two teams went head-to-head in Bunbury, with Blackwood initially trailing after Bunbury netted the first two goals of the match, thanks to Jessica Fuller and Fadzai Manyura. Blackwood scored their first goal at the 39-minute mark thanks to Skye Dalton, who scored a second five minutes later before the main break to tie the scores. Bunbury’s Molly Anders brought the lead back for her team with a goal just minutes into the second half. But it did not take long for Blackwood to equalise once more, thanks to team work giving Krista Nichols the opportunity to score a goal. Blackwood’s momentum did not stop, with Skye Dalton kicking two more goals to help Blackwood secure the lead. Teammate Susanne Woodall kicked a goal in the last minutes of the game to help solidify Blackwood’s win, with a full-time score of 6-3. Blackwood United will host Busselton City FC next Sunday in Balingup.
