SWSA: Dalyellup dominate match against Blackwood United, while Rovers have mixed results against Australind

Blackwood United went down to Dalyellup Park Rangers 9-2 during their match-up on Sunday morning. Heavy rain meant the women were slow to start at Balingup, but the show went on despite matches across the South West Soccer Association being canned in the Bunbury area. Dalyellup led the match after netting several early goals. Blackwood showed their fight to narrow the margin, but the Rangers were up by four goals at the half-time break. After the break, Dalyellup continued their streak and extended their lead, with several players continuing to weave through Blackwood’s defences. The Rovers’ men’s team played away in Australind, defeating the home team by one goal, 4-3. Rovers started the game strongly, with goals scored early on by Dylan Murray and Elyott Woods, but Australind handled the wet conditions and netted the ball once before the half. After the break, the game was moved to another pitch to continue, with Australind scoring the next goal to even the playing field. They quickly netted another and the chase was on. The equaliser came in the last five minutes, with a goal from Julian Ure. They then regained their dominance after Tom Anstey scored Rovers’ fourth goal to seal the win. The Rovers’ women’s team faltered during their match against Australind, losing by six goals. The wet conditions made the women’s game difficult for both teams, with the pitch becoming waterlogged. By half-time, Australind had a big lead, with a score of 7-1. It only slightly improved for the Rovers who netted two more, but two more also came for Australind who won 9-3. Blackwood will travel to Dunsborough on Sunday and the Manjimup Rovers’ men and women will host Bunbury Dynamos.
