Forestry defeated Pemberton by nine wickets in their Warren Blackwood Cricket Association clash at Collier Street Sporting Complex on Saturday. Pemberton won the toss and elected to bat with Riley Liddelow (14) and Nicholas Mills (2) first up. They were both caught by Kallan Fall off the bowling of Daniel Ward and Reece Edwards, while Cameron Bamess was caught and bowled by Edwards without scoring. Tayne Prosser (20) was able to last long enough to add a significant amount of runs for Pemberton. The scoring slowly plateaued with Tharun Prithviraj (2) and Jesse Mills (5) adding a few runs to their team’s score, and although Gary Mills (29) was able to swing big and boost the count, it slowed down from there. Brendan Peet and Tristan Mills were dismissed without scoring — victims of Lewis James Metcalfe and Rueben Hill — before Jon Liddelow added six and Glen Prosser made two to see the Pemberton all out for 101. Forestry made a bright start with captain Brock Tempra (54) and Daniel Ward (38) taking on Pemberton’s bowlers. They were able to make inroads into the target, before Ward was caught by Nicholas Mills off the bowling of Tharun Prithviraj. Forestry reached the target soon after with only three batters required.
