Walpole duo Oceanique have released their second single Grandmothers Shelf, a folk pop track.

If you are a fan of slow pop music or piano-driven music, you will probably enjoy this song.

The buzzword for this track is ethereal and the vocals have been modified to achieve this effect, which makes the lyrics blend with the music at times, making it slightly harder to distinguish the lyrics.

The singers maintain their distinctive Australian accents throughout the track, harmonising well to give the vocals depth and strength.

One surprising element of the songwriting is that the track has a muted crescendo, subverting the expectation that the song will have an up-tempo crescendo or hook, showing impressive restraint and artistic direction from relatively new artists.
