Great Graze comes to Manjimup and Pemberton next month

A suite of grazing experiences showcasing premium local produce and celebrating farmers and growers are coming to the South West in March as part of WA’s Great Graze. A showcase for the Genuinely Southern Forests’ 10-year anniversary celebrations, the roaming event — which began in 2021 — events will be held in Manjimup, Pemberton and Margaret River, as well as Perth, the Swan Valley, and Carnarvon. The campaign aims to celebrate home-grown produce and extend appreciation to WA farmers, fishers and producers who put it on WA tables. Southern Forests Food Council chair Kieran Kinsella said WA’s Great Graze was about “igniting a celebration of local produce, wines and so much more”. “In 2020 our committee decided that we needed an opportunity to unite and celebrate our State’s food and beverage sector, and so, the first WA’s Great Graze was born,” he said. “We are pleased to be able to once again offer this experience to consumers and connect with industry around Western Australia.” Visitors will be able to participate in activities in all six locations, including a grazing platter at Tall Timbers Manjimup, a beach and forest grazing adventure tour in Pemberton and a Graze in the Forests tour in the Southern Forests on the March long weekend. Program manager of Buy West Eat Best Melissa Worthington said the program was a “wonderful showcase of what WA has to offer”. “Buy West Eat Best is proud to partner with this campaign and the amazing line-up of offerings connecting consumers with local food and beverages,” she said. Those participating in the Graze will also be able to enter a competition to sip, taste and explore their way through the Southern Forests for a dream weekend at the Pinot Picnic in April valued at $2000. The prize includes two nights accommodation at Jasper’s Pemberton, selected meals, a food and forests trail experience, the Pass the Pinot evening event and a gourmet grazing hamper. Local events include Graze in the Forests in Pemberton on March 4, Grazing Manjimup at Tall Timbers (date TBA) and Beach and Forest Eco Adventures will run out of Pemberton on March 3, 8, 11, 13, 16, 22, 27 and 29. A “Great Graze” Tasting Plate and Wine flight will be available all through March at Domaine Naturaliste Cellar Door in Margaret River.
